System STANDARD

Pipework is clipped into self-adhesive rails at pre-determined distances onto primary insulation. Perfect for standard sand / cement screeds, polished concrete finishes, liquid anhydrite screeds and cast in-situ terrazzo floors

Jump to Specifications >

Suitability

For residential applications, a sand/cement screed of 65 mm is used (45 mm covering) or a 50 mm anhydrite screed (30 mm covering).

Screed based systems are suitable for most floor finishes although caution should be applied when installing stone or tile finishes. In these cases, a decoupling system should be installed between the floor finish and the screed. It is not advised to install a natural stone floor on heated anhydrite screed.

Movement joints, as prescribed by BS 8204 should be incorporated in all designs. Joints at thresholds should also be taken into account.

Installation Guide

01
Begin by fixing the perimeter insulation to the wall by using the self-adhesive strip on the back. When using floor insulation ≥ 5 cm fix the perimeter insulation to the wall above the insulation.

01

02
Slit the back of the perimeter insulation with a knife 3 cm up from the bottom. Cut the back for inside corners and the front for outside corners.

02

03
Begin laying the Neopor joining insulation with the overlaying flaps against the wall.

03

04
Continue by laying the next row of insulation so that the flap overlaps the previous panel. Tape up all joints including overlapping joints if using liquid screed.

04

05
Tape the tanking strip to the floor insulation by again using the self-adhesive strip. Avoid tearing in corners by keeping the material free of tension.

05

06
Position pipe clip rails to suit the plan. Cut using a pipe cutter.

06

07
Install pipe by forming large arcs of pipe to avoid kinking the pipe.

07

08
Fix flow and return pipes every two metres. See additional pipe distance guide in Download PDF for detailed information.

08

09
When connecting pipe using JUPITER press fittings, only make joints on straight runs and never in pipe bends.

09

10
Place pipe in movement gap profiles where designated, protect with black protective sleeve and finally insert further perimeter insulation.
