System CASTELLATED

System CASTELLATED

Castellated panels are designed to simplify the procedure of preparing the floor for laying heating pipes by offering quick and easy positioning of pipes without requiring further fixings. The underfloor heating pipework is clipped securely between the studs at predetermined centres.

System CASTELLATED has two further benefits over traditional pipe and clip systems:

  1. The rigid interlocking castellated panels act as a separating layer obviating an additional Damp Proof Membrane (DPM).
  2. The raised studs within the panels protect the pipework against site traffic prior to screeding.

Product Benefits:

  • Vacuum formed castellations provide a simple, penetration-free fixing mechanism for 16mm underfloor heating pipework.
  • The overlapping and interlocking castellated panels remove the requirement for an additional DPM.
  • The underfloor heating pipework sits below the level of the underfloor heating pipework making for an installation that better resists the rigours of site traffic and the screeding process itself.

Installation Guide

01
Begin by fixing the perimeter insulation to the wall by using the self-adhesive strip on the back. When using floor insulation ≥ 5 cm, fix the perimeter insulation to the wall above the insulation.

Connect one end of the pipe to the manifold and fix the heating pipes into the castellated panels at the pipe centres defined in the design information. Make sure that the distance between the wall and first pipe row is at least 100 mm.

The pipe is relatively rigid and will keep its form once bent. Take care when forming tight bends and use an external bending spring if necessary.

Once the installation is complete, fill the system with water, purge air and leave under pressure (1.5 bar). We advise that the system is kept under pressure during the screeding process.
