Lincolns Inn, Old Hall
In 2015 JUPITER were specified by Rick Mather Architects to install a new underfloor heating system over an existing floor which was originally finished with timber boards. The timber floor had shown signs of water damage which it transpired was caused by a long-forgotten rusting, cast iron underfloor heating system. JUPITER were charged with levelling the excavated floor using our specialist screedless floor construction techniques and rebuilding it to original level in a way that was sympathetic to the historic building fabric. Electrical trunking for floorboxes was incorporated within the depth of the primary insulation and backfilled with our dry levelling slate. Owing to the vauled ceiling in the crypt below, the insulation could not be installed in the middle of the room, and so the void was also backfilled with slate. Our Ideal EPS heating panels and Screed Replacement Tile system were specified to suit the stone floor finish.
